Is it advisable then to pay online beforen being asked the PR fee using https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/disclaimer.do and if so the payment is going to Vegreville and not the local office or is it too late and it should have been done when the file was sent ?
I ask because I read someone here suggesting to pay the fee in advance to save time at the end but I wanna be sure the payment is going at the right office
We paid online two weeks before sending our application to CIC, our process took 11 months exactly.

Thanks for the response!

Is it really necessary after all we done to wait for another form/note?
What is the benefit of the FOSS note?
Let me understand,
You got AIP and DM on the sponsor eCAS and medicals are done...
Did you send the police certificate before you got the AIP or after?

Hi,
We have sent everything and they received them before AIP. Only the RPRF fee was paid after.
We were curious about our bring forward date and if everything is alright and this is why we ask the FOSS note.

@  gracie: applying for a temporary work permit should not be an issue, I've renewed mine when I got a new contract after sending in the PR application together with the OWP application. I'm assuming you already have a work permit when you're on maternity leave right now, so yours would likely be a renewal as well, but even if it's a completely new job, it shouldn't be an issue if you have an LMO.

@  kama: OMG they are working on September already? We're only 3 months away then from our date, I can't believe we're finally coming this close now! My family is desperate, because I'm supposed to be the one with the career while DH wants to be a stay-at-home-dad to our little girl, so we really need that OWP asap.

In the meantime, I haven't given up on sending out job applications whenever I see something coming up, and I actually had an interview last week. It went great and I loved the place, but it would yet again only be a temp job, and I'm now just waiting for that dreaded email/phone call telling me "we really liked you but we don't want to go through the hassle of applying for an LMO. Have a nice life.".

I sooooo hope this is going to improve when we get PR- I wish the best of luck for all of us, we deserve it after the long wait! And I'm already more lucky than most people, working right now (albeit in a low paying job, and it really IS time for me to move on now if want to have a career eventually).

I had to look up what FOSS meant, and the entry I found for it on Wikipedia said that because they have to pull your file, it causes delays.  I don't know where to verify whether it's true or not.

If you ask for a physical copy of your file, then it does require pulling your file.  If you ask for copy of the computer notes, it does not - the ATIP office in Ottawa just pulls the information from their computer (soon after they get your request) and then 30 days later sends the information to you (so the information you get is generally about a month old.)

Hi computergeek. Just want to ask if what does JR mean in your signature/footer? and why do you have a hearing set in oct 2012? thanks.
