I think my lawyer sent the solemnization certificate to Vegreville. I am not 100% sure because I just gave everything to my lawyer and he's the one forwarding it to the office. I did my medicals before I sent my application in July 2011. I sent everything already including the RCMP fingerprint scan... Do you have a lawyer helping you with it?

For those, who need to apply Open Work Permit after getting First Stage Approval.

I got my Approval letter on Feb. 17, 2012. I applied the work permit online on the same day.
And I got it today (Feb 27, 2012) Issue date: Feb, 23. Exp. Date is same as the exp. date of my passport.

So immigration guys can work very quick, if it is needed (10 days (5 business days) instead of 16 days...)
My study permit will be exp tomorrow Cheesy

Ps: I did my medicals Dec 22, 2010. So it is exp. No need to do it again, if they do not ask to do!!!

Hi hakri,

is there a particular reason why you applied for OWP when you already had your second stage approved?

1.  I have only first stage approved.
2.  If I had had both stages approved, I would have lost my legal status without it....

For those who have had to re-do the medical (if there are any) how long did it take for it to attach to your file?

I've gotten AIP and I had to re-do my medicals. I already sent in my police report when my AIP arrived. On Feb 2nd I got a letter telling me I had to re-do my medicals. On Feb 24th I got them re-done. So anxious. I think I'll be landing finally then!

Has anyone after missha heard anything yet? I keep checking ecas but nothing yet. I think it may be too early for me to call CIC. I notice we always hear info on Mondays and Tuesdays. Weird.

Hi Angtao... Ichecked the web  @  600 when I came to work  - Nothing...
I checked again 10 minutes ago, and have the "decision made"....
I had something inside telling me today is the day!!!!

Now back to wait again, to see what they decided... if is first or second or both or denied...

So, I think you are next!!!!!

quick question guys....my "Permanent Residence Application Status" on the main page changed to "Decision Made" today even though in the details section, it still says it's approved for 1st stage. Does it mean that they have completed the  second stage or is it just delayed change after the first stage approval?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Hakri. I sent my PR application also without OWP application. What do you suggest? Should I:
1. Send it now before AIP or
2. APply online after AIP just like what you did

One more question:
1. Is online OWP application not difficult?
2. What papers did you submit? I understand that if you get an AIP, you dont need any LMO, job offer, etc. So what specific papers did you submit in your case?
3. How did they send you the OWP? via mail or did you print it online?

Many thanks.
