wowwwwww, big congratulations to all people having the good news this week, such an amazing week during the long time.
So CIC didn't disappoint me  Grin, they just forgot to update the date on the website, they are not slow down, hurray hurray!  Tongue Tongue Tongue

I've checked the ecas like 40 times today!!! This is all it says:

We received your application for permanent residence on February 17, 2011.

We started processing your application on March 23, 2011.

I have a question: My mom didn't send an OWP application. When she gets the AIP will she be able to work or will she have to apply for one?

Thanks and congrats to all the people that got their AIPs!!!!!
She will have to wait until she gets PR approval (2 stages) and get SIN number to start working. If she doesn't get 2 stage approval at one time, she will need to wait for the 2nd stage approval (1 to 9 months).

hi guys its been a while since i posted.....i sent my application october 31st ...my husband got a letter in january stating that they have recieved our application ...and i recieved a letter with my application for work permit which was returned to me  Shocked because i for some reason didnt sent the 150 ...ooops lol ..they said i should resubmit my application with the fee...well thats all the updates on my journey so far ..oh and i tried logging  in to check my application process and i was able to ..it says application recieved .another thing before i sent in my pr application i extended my stay and i also recieved my visitor record in december ...

ps: do i need to wait until they request my medical or should i just do it ..i didnt send it with my application

You should do the medical check now since it will take at least 4 to 5 weeks to be at CIC office. You also should send the receipt in separate mail to CIC office and ask them to attach with your app.

Hi everyone.

I'm new to this canadavisa forum and I saw this topic started by Missha. Very interesting board and people are so helpful to reply and to share their experiences about Inland applications.

Im in the same boat. We sent our application for inland sponsorship- spouse category last January 2012 only (very recent). Courier receipt signed by CIC on January 25, 2012 only. I know I have a long waiting to go. Anyway, just some questions to all members:

1. Will CIC send me any mail to acknowledge that they have received my application package?
Where and when and how will I get a client number?

2. When should I start registering for ECAS? Should my husband (who is my sponsor) also register separately under ECAS?

3. I'm confused because some say they have AIP initially, then some say they have both AIP and final approval simultaneously. I checked the CIC website for processing times for PR under Spouse Sponsored Inland Category. it says there that there is a 13 month waiting for Stage 1 AIP, then there is another 9 months for final decision after. My question is : Under what situations does a person get AIP and Final Decision simultaneously (I mean, in a single notification). By the way, I applied as spouse, I dont have any dependents or any children. Basically it's just me. My sponsor is my husband (a Canada-born citizen).

4. One more question. I did not include an Open Work Permit application when I submitted my PR application last January 2012. But I definitely want to work as soon as I am eligible to apply for an OWP. But now, can I still remedy this problem? I mean, can I still send an additional OWP application now?

Would greatly appreciate all relevant answers to my query. I'm new to Canada. And my parents both passed away recently. I'm not working because I don't have work permit. This is a very depressing situation but I try to be strong and patiently wait.

Thank you and God bless everyone.

I think someone opened a thread for 2012 applicants, you can check it out and join there with them too.
1. Client ID:
CIC will send the sponsor an email to state that they receive your app. (around 2 to 3 months after the date your app. was sent)
In that email, your sponsor will be given her/his client ID if he/she never had it before.

If you are the applicant and you visit Canada under any category legally, you're supposed to have client ID on those papers (visitor permit, work permit, study permit). Client ID is 8 digit number separated by - in the middle.
If by any reason you are the applicant and you still don't have client ID, you can wait until CIC starts processing your application and call them to get one.

2. eCAS:
If you're talking about registering eCas update notification from Matthew's website, u can register anytime you want. That's his own website, just a utility to help us out, not an official tool from CIC.
If you're talking about eCas on CIC official website, you don't need to register anything. Just wait and check it out regularly to see the update.

3. 2 stage approval
There is no official clue for this. However, as the experience from thread 2010 and this one, people who are in straight forward cases usually can get 2 stage approval (not always).
(straight forward cases will have one or all of these features: no dependents, is working legally, working as caregivers)

4. Work permit
Yes you still can send OWP app now, send to the same address you sent your PR app. and tell them to attach to your app. and process OWP app. after AIP only. Remember to attach the receipt for OWP fee too.

Hey everyone,

For those that have received a 'decision made' or 'transfer' letter would you mind looking at my question below please Smiley

I received a letter from CIC today (dated Feb 7), however my ECAS still just says 'In Progress' (I have AIP) My letter states:

"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The CIC in Victoria will contact you concerning your permanent resident status.

Please note: At the time of your appointment, you and your family members, if any, will be required to present the original identification document(s) to the CIC. A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be made at that time. If permanent residence is granted, the name that will appear on the confirmation of permanent resident document is your name as it appears on your passport or identity documents.

..."

So my question, is this letter saying that they are going to request an interview as they have doubts on our relationship? Or is it decision made?

Thanks - just a little stressed by it

Looks like CIC is in doubt of the documents you submitted on your application.. They're just asking you to bring all the original documents you have used to submit with your application.. If you can present during the interview all this originals I believe you will be fine and they will give your permanent resident approval...

Hi Guys,

This was in the last months......"We received your application for permanent residence on February 24, 2011.

We started processing your application on March 25, 2011."

And yesterday it changed: "A decision has been made and you will be contacted." (Feb13,2012)
It could be good or bad. I do not get why they are so mysterious Smiley I just prepared for the worst, and hope the best Wink

I think they just forgot to up-date the system, that`s why the 21st January date in it...

I hope they will contact me soon, cause my study permit will be expired on 28th of Feb, 2012.... I do not have time. Any experience, who long does it take for them to contact? Or what happen if I loose my status  during the process? (No way to extend it, I did it 3 times...)

Thanks

does E-cas say anything about letter being sent yet?

In my opinion, this is nothing BUT GOOOD NEWS! This is the standard landing procedure where they will verify your documents and grant you PR. So relax, chill and enjoy Valentine's day!

Great news, ECAS finally changed to Decission Made. Smiley

I still can't believe that it took more than a year, let's see how long it takes until I get the PR card...

This is what it says:

We received your application for permanent residence on February 2, 2011.

We started processing your application on March 11, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

We sent you a letter on February 10, 2012 to XXX about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

Ottawa_inland,

Yes, it has some meaning like "Wery" above. Whenever you are being mentioned on your CIC website that "we have sent you a letter on February 10, 2012 to XXX ..".  It means your both stages are approved.

On the other hand, if it is written, "A decision has been made and you will be contacted" It means your first stage has been approved only and you have to wait for your second stage.

I am just adding the same date to PR/Landed to just keep the track who got their both stages approved as well as who are going to wait for the second stage.

I will update also the dates once I get to know exactly when they are going to land, as they have not had received their landing letter yet.

Hope that clears Smiley
