Neither do I get to check my status through CAS nor receiving any notification from ECAS. I tried to called to CIC centre but the representative told me that I can't check my update after (at least) 9 months.

Welcome Buima.
Nazam, from the looks of the chart it looks like they now process anywhere from 5-23 days. Do you have a client id number? Do you have a work permit or a visitor extension record? Your client id number would be on that or you can call CIC and ask them what your client id number is. nazam, you can also see how many days it takes to process the visitor extension just like the pr.
ilovecanada, read what I wrote above to nazam.
(Currently taking 10-11 months from date app was received to hear by CIC about AIP)

I used my client id where I found it from my study permit. I typed ####-#### or receipt no. which starts from R######### with my personal info but I didn't get to check anything.

Hi
Can someone tell me how long it takes since they show case in process. I have applied on 18th August (posted that day). I tried using the payment reference number but its not showing any detail.
Can someone also tell me, can we see the ECAS if we applied for Visitor Extension like we do for PR?
Naz
Hi Naz, I was wondering the same thing but it seems to vary. If you look at angtao's list, you can see how long some have been taking. Mine took over 4 weeks to change from "received" to "in process" but it looks like some took less than 2 weeks. Hopefully yours is a short one. ABozzy

When I log into ecas, I include the dash. For example, 1234-5678. It wouldn't work for me if I left it out.

I know that CIC recommends that when an inland application is in progress, that we don't leave the country.
Work is asking me to go to a conference in the US next month but I'm not sure whether to risk it. It would be a great training opportunity. I have a current work permit that doesn't expire for almost two years so I don't know why I would be refused entry. If, for some reason, I was refused entry, I think my PR application would be cancelled.
Does anyone have any experience with this CIC recommendation? Has anyone actually left the country and come back in without trouble or know someone who has? Does anyone know someone that left and was refused re-entry?

Depends if you have valid visa (multiple entry) I don't see why you shouldn't; you gotta be there if they call you for interview that's my opinion

I applied inland, Vergreville received application Aug 29
I only sent the $475 application receipt and not the sponsor fee of $75
Question is... I will send receipt immediately via priority mail, I want to know is:
What can I do so they don't return package as incomplete?
Can I send receipt immediately via priority mail?
What can I write, note or tag outside parcel so they don't mistake it for another application (When they receive it I want it opened immediately and added to original parcel) If its possible to send a notation for this to be done, where do I note it because priority mail (parcel is colorful and no place to write on the out side)
Your timely assistance and response is super appreciated... yea mon respect

Abozzy, you're right. I can now check my updates on cic with a dash in between my client id. This is what I saw after I logged in "We received your application for permanent residence on July 29, 2011." Does it mean it's in process?

Warning for all inland applicants whose local office is quebec city:
You are probably in for a log wait to have a landing interview. waiting times are now 4 months since they received the approval in principal letter. then if , like in my case, they make mistakes and send, stupidly, applications back and forth to montreal and quebec city, you are likely to wait even more. crazy. a real disappointment with a country like canada where things in government usually are much faster. immigration in this country sucks...ridicoulous. my sister who lives in the states had the same situation like me (family class , and applied inland and her whole process lasted 3 and half months!!!not that i would like to live in the states but i think they have many more immigrants there....they should definitely employ more people or open more local offices....
my approval in principal is dated 29 april 2011 they said i'm likely to have a landing interview in quebec city at the end of october..... I'M leaving for italy at the start of december. i hope at least i will have done the interview by then because i would'n t want to cancel my trip for this stupid bureaucracy. my tickets are already reserved and paid....
just wanted to let you know....

Welcome Schillachi, I am not sure what to do in your case. Maybe ask the folks in the Inland 2010 thread.
ilove, it looks like your file is not in process yet. I don't think it really makes a difference if it is in process yet or not. You still have to wait the 10-11 months. Hang tight. It will show up anyday now.
