Thank you! I was answering someone else's question about the OWP, I personally sent my OWP with my application  Cheesy.
However your advice about the medical is very helpful to me!!! Thank you for the heads up qw123 Smiley Do you know where I would send the the medical into (I sent my application to Vegreville, would it be there with a letter attached with my client ID and yada yada yada) and should I wait until they start processing the application to send it, or go ahead and send it now? Because they might/probably start processing the application sooner than September...

TPW

It will be a risk to take 4-5 months wait if you wait until they request it ...so u  looking at jan 2013 to be over. If they do request it it will be mentioned on the same letter as AIP.

If you do it now, you will send it to cpc-v same spot you send your PR application with your id#

It's highly unlikely they get to you on time to validate your current med...as july will be aug application, aug= sept and sept - oct appli...

This is what I suggest you....with AIP and OWP you should wait and take the risk....all depend on your future intentions like plan to travel. but with OWP you can do school, get visa, work and whatver for about two year or upto the time your current passport expires. It all depend on your plans. Also AIP gives you provincial health care...so you are almost considered a PR with these 2.... If I were you so long I have OWP i can work and be in legal status I wouldnt care if the process takes months. med 200 $ is lot of money

If I understand correctly, once we get the CSQ and AIP as Quebec resident we can then ask for the RAMQ card right ?
Anyone from province of Quebec can share how it was easy and where we should do that in Montreal ?

thank you

This is a first hand experience.

If you are sponsored inland by your spouse then yes: Upon AIP, CSQ gives you access to ramq and you will get your ramq card after 3 months regardless of stage 2 completion. If you are a woman, upon AIP, CSQ will give you a temp RAMQ letter immediately upon applying that gives you immediate coverage on pregnancy/abortion (you have to tell them you are or planning to be) related expenses only like genico visits and labor. this letter will not cover other health issues until you get you ramq card.

appying for ramq with AIP is as easy as drinking water. just bring passport, current legal status if any, AIP letter, proof of address like lease or hydro bill....they dont take any other proof of address. if your hydro bill is electronic just print and bring.

If you are sponsored inland by your spouse then also: upon AIP, CSQ give you Quebec resident fees in school. you will pay like quebeckers.

I'm curious what experience people have had applying for their OHIP card once their AIP is received? I was planning to go to Windsor next week and apply. Am I correct in thinking that, since I've been here more than 3 months, I would be able to get it immediately, or do I have to wait three months since receiving AIP before applying?

3 months count down begin upon applying for OHIP which is the date you do your OHIP application

Does anyone know if Having AIP and OWP allows you to travel out of Canada or is it still "dangerous" without the PR?

Thank you for the answer. Since we are applying inland and got the CSQ we just need to wait for AIP which I guess should be around November. Unfortunately we will have to extent my wife's private insurrance ending in December for a couple more months to cover the 3 months waiting period for the RAMQ card then...

well you can if you have or can get visas...people have done it...people say all depend on the officer...if mean you are screwed. However, it's not recommended as if you get refused entry you are done. It's worth taking the risk if you have no choice or a must.

Dear inlanders, my application was received on November 26, 2011. I am now thinking to submit more documents proactively, but want to clarify some issues before I sent them.
1.  For those who have got their DM and who are still waiting, did you (or are you going to) submit more supporting documents without CIC ask for them?
2. I am thinking to submit sponsor's NOA for 2012 as my sponsor has higher income (the income she wrote for the previous 12 months on the application form was lower than the LICO for my family size), but on the other hand income is not necessary for spouse application. I am also thinking to submit RCMP fingerprint, but on the other hand CIC may do it themself. So is it necessary to submit the two documents?
3. Will submit the documents delay the process of my application given my timeline?

Thanks for your help!

well, income is not required only if you are in Quebec. I am gonna tell you what I think whether income is required or not:

If you do RCMP, it takes about 3 weeks for you to get the clearance letter from them which you will add to your file.
For your husband proof of income, it will be a good thing to send the out as well.

Well see, sending more docs proactively is not a bad thing at all. all depends on cic time line regarding more doc request. Back in April, CIC was taking 40 days to open your received file and attach it. you are still three months away, considering your RCMP clearance letter is been received.

people do their own RCMP because it can make it quicker for CIC to issue a decision. I have done it. the fingerprint agency did mine electronically rather than cards and soon after i got the clearance letter from RCMP. over all my applic took a bit longer as they asked for more proof of relationship like mariage certficate, lease, common accts and so on which i had provided but maybe lost.

If I were you all in all, I will go ahead and send these (if have client ID# of course). write your client ID# on them or on a cover letter and tell them to attach it to your PR package. It will take them about 45 days to attach it and will rather make your app faster.
