hello everyone, ive been contacting **spam** and she is bad on answering emails im going to get lmo this week and im confused where to send the application for a work permit, im holding a visitors record now and i called cic and asked the agent, and she advice me to send the work permit application outside Canada, cause im holding a visitors record right now, but when i look at the cic site it says i can apply for a work permit inside canada which the application will be sent to vegreville once i have already applied for pr. Just really confused where to send it and if i sent it to buffalo they might ask for an interview which i cant leave Canada cause there's no guarantee i can re enter. hope to hear from u guys and will really appreciate an answer, and just wonndering how can my status update will be added in the chart? i sent my application nov 2011 to vegreville , its been 5 mos since me and my common applied and another 5 mos or more to hear from immgration and to get an open work permit if were a approved. just frustrated to get a job and luckily i found an employer who can give me an lmo. thanks!! I think you would have to apply for a temporary work permit at this point, because the work permit application you send to Vegreville will only be processed once you get AIP and is for an open work permit, as opposed to a closed job/employer specific permit. I just renewed my closed permit a couple of weeks ago- I applied online using the "extending your stay in Canada" thingy. I have the impression you might be able to use that as well, because it looked to me like you can switch from worker to student to visitor and vice versa. May I ask what field of work you are in? I'm curious because I have found it close to impossible to find an employer who is willing to go through the LMO process- I was passed over repeatedly for that reason. I'm currently working in an LMO exempt position.

If you got your LMO already you can apply online.. You need to make a MyCIC online account and CIC will ask you to upload your LMO and work permit documents online.. Check this below : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp

hi Deutschbug thanks for replying and yes im going to apply for a temporary work permit. and it means i can apply it within canada? cause 2 agents told me to pass the application to buffalo, but it is risky that i might go there for interview, i was in a health field when i first came here in canada (tfw) then tfw to visitors record and now found an employer and im going to work in a warehouse. I think you would have to apply for a temporary work permit at this point, because the work permit application you send to Vegreville will only be processed once you get AIP and is for an open work permit, as opposed to a closed job/employer specific permit.

I guess CIC has updated the processing time for last week. The average processing time remains the same - April 30. Speed up please...

first congratulations on your baby! i hope the joy overwhelms the pain of delivery and bills. i had my baby delivered before i got my PR. luckily i was in school and it was mandatory to buy health insurance ourselves for $900/year. and that covers all of my tests, doctor's visits, delivery and hospital stay. my baby was born the end of may, and the insurance ended in august, just in time for me to recover because i did go back to see the OB for a few times. i hope both of you and the baby are doing well now, my hospital charges $3400 a day just to let you know. and for anyone else in the similar situation, do buy private insurance when you are waiting for PR, because it costs under $2000 but if you are going to give birth, it will save you a LOT!
tzing, can u tell us what insurance service you were using that covered birth delivery? If it sounds like advertising to everyone, I hope you can PM me pls. I always think that private insurance companies won't cover baby birth cause it's kind of "controllable" hospitality, not accident.

This is interesting question. I applied more than 200 companies and 10 of them interviewed me. However, all of them kicked me out when they knew they had to give me LMO

We received your application for permanent residence on May 31, 2011. We started processing your application on June 10, 2011. A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

This is interesting question. I applied more than 200 companies and 10 of them interviewed me. However, all of them kicked me out when they knew they had to give me LMO Hi Hatrang. Same with me. I applied for jobs last year. Unfortunately, all these companies were not willing to sponsor me for work permit or an LMO. That's why it feels so so so frustrating. That's why starting January 2012, whenever I get calls from recruitment companies, I immediately tell them that I will be needing sponsorship for work permit. In that way, they will know right away and they won't waste their time (and my time) too in terms of scheduling live interviews and stuff. Having no OWP is really a big constraint. Sometimes, I feel some regrets for filing an inland application. Because outland is definitely faster than inland. From my country of origin, most spouse sponsorships were processed and landed already in a span of 3-4 months only. I have a former neighbor that got sponsored last Dec 2011 (outland), and now, last Easter Sunday (April 2012), she called me up and said that she is already in Canada. OMG, how fast hers turned out.

And thank you for keeping us posted. The wait it's getting agonizing, it was a lot easier to endure while we were seeing all those big jumps. For how long has it been stuck on April 30th now? 4 weeks? That seems like it's worse than it was around Christmas.

Yeah, later on I even put directly into my cover letter that I need a sponsorship. You know what? When I put like that, it meant I told the recruiters to throw my resume into the trash bin next to him/her too . Sometimes we are just so frustrated but recruiters won't care, they have a lot of people in the queue. Anyway, that's the game we all are in now. You're close Johanna, you'll be there very soon!!!!! I also knew a case of outland that took 6 months sharp, however, we picked our way and be positive on it. I know you are positive too, you'll be there soon.
