Hey everyone I've been ready up in the forum and a question just came to me.

When you say your aprroved for both stages then does it mean that in the letter or mail, you also receive your PR card?

I'm only asking because I have the same message on my file. What are the next steps once you receive the letter?

I'm just slightly confused

I don't think your husband will get his own login for e-cas.  It's all considered the same file as far as I know.

I'm sponsoring my fiance and I didn't get any special login....

[edit] never mind, looks like I can log in with the client ID i received from CIC, and my fiance can log in with the application number.  Fancy that!

Hi! I'm getting kinda worried. Maybe I shouldn't be, but could you answer this question?

A letter was sent beginning of December 2011 with my AIP. I called the CIC centre and they told me it'd take about 2 weeks to arrive. It's already January and it hasn't arrived, yet. Does it take this long during holidays? My address is correct so I don't think that's the issue. It's an inland application. I just started to get my mail this week after the holidays, but I thought my letter would arrive by today the latest. Do they process government mail differently?

I think people just look at the eCas message to tell that an app. was approved 1 or 2 stages.
If you see "Medical results have been received." before "a decision has been made", that means both stages.
So if you already got approval on both stage, you now just wait for your landing interview and PR card. It's the matter of time only.

My hubby (citizen and the sponsor) just received an email from CIC. He never had clientID before but in the email they did give him a client ID.
Just because right now CIC didn't update eCas so I can't log into it even though using mine or his ID. I think CIC just started sending email to the sponsor recently. If you filed your app. before July, you may not receive anything until the first approval (1st stage).

Hi MrMass,

What follows after the Second Stage of Approval is successfully completed, which includes medical, security, background checks and other verifications for the person being sponsored, is the landing interview.

This interview, which is a "painless" administrative formality to officialize the new status, takes place at the local CIC office with jurisdiction over the case. Normally, and shortly after the Second Stage is over, the applicant receives a letter from CIC stating the place and time for the event in question, as well as any required documents. At the end of the normally short interview, provided that the RPRF has already been paid and that there are no additional issues, the applicant receives his/her Record of Landing (IMM 1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292).  A few weeks later the already Permanent Resident should receive by mail the actual Permanent Resident Card.

MrMass, the good news is that all you need to do to is to call CIC and ask them whether you were in fact approved for both stages, which for what we have seen lately is quite possible.  No need to guess, buddy, just call Smiley

I'm sorry that I missed "AIP" in your question so I gave the wrong answer in the previous post. I just delete the answer for your part there. You may just wait some more days, I guess just around Monday or Tuesday you will yet it, don't worry!

Thank you! Does it always take this long? Another question, on my ecas it said "a decision has been made and you will be contacted." That's when I called CIC and they told me they approved my application for PR H&C beginning of December 2011. I'm a little confused, because some people get asked for medicals before decision made? Or should i not pay attention to the wording on the ecas?

It's not always but I noticed that sometimes govt's mails came a little later than they stated. You hit the biggest holiday so no wonder.
They may ask you to get things (next steps) done in the letter. Did you finish medical exam and police check before?
(I'm sorry I don't know what H&C means.)

Oh, so it was probably Canada Post who received the letters late? H&C (humanitarian and compassionate grounds), the PR second stage process for it is like the regular PR. I have not done medicals during the process of this application; however, I have done them before sending it and they might still be valid. Which is why I want to get the letter asap, so I know what to do next :p.

Thanks for your reply!

I collected these from other threads, you may find it's good now in the waiting time. Don't worry, just enjoy your weekend, they will be yours shortly.

The sponsor approval letter starts off like this:
"This refers to the Application to sponsor a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class you submitted to this office on behalf of (insert name here). You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence will be processed separately and the applicant will hear from this office shortly." (Then goes on to discuss your obligations as a sponsor.)

The applicant approval letter for AIP starts off like this:
"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements."
