Greetings,

Can someone please help with this?

According to OHIP Regulations:
"You are also required to be present in Ontario for 153 days of the first 183 days immediately following the date residency is established in Ontario (you cannot be absent for more than 30 days during the first 6 months of residency)."

After this initial 6 month period, I gather, there is a 'rolling' annual requirement of 153 days of physical presence.

My question concerns only the first year. What happens if you are away for more than 30 days during the first six months, but then return and stay the rest of the year? At what point, in other words, does OHIP coverage finally kick in during that initial 12 month period?

Thanks for any help with this.
