Hello all,

I am new to this forum but I think it's a great idea to help persons who need info.
I am a Jamaican citizen seeking to acquire a wrk permit and hopefully take my wife once successful. We are both university graduates who are currently employed locall in reputable financial institutions. Howeve we are seeking to take advantage of the growth opportunities that may be available in Canada.
As such any advice on how to proceed and possible programmes or institutions that may be able to assist will be greatly appreciated.

Your best option is to post your resumes and look for jobs on reputable sites such as the Canadian Job Bank and monster.ca.

In order to hire you, a Canadian employer must prove that they were unable to find a Canadian for the role and for this reason must hire a foreign professional. This is a difficult process and not all requests to hire a foreign worker are approved. For this reason many employers are very hesitant to consider foreign candidates. (This doesn't mean you can try. Just be prepared for a lot of rejection.)

Avoid consultants who want to charge you high fees for getting you a job and work permit - many of these are scams.

Hope this helps - good luck.
