We have been asked to provide the birth certificate of our baby. do we need to send the original or a photo copy of the document would do.
Also if the original was sent, would they return it ?

You should do whatever you have been asked to do. If you have been asked to provide original do so , if you were asked to provide notarized copy do so.

If you are unsure check your visa office specific instructions regarding submission of documents. Do note that there are variations between different visa offices so you need to be sure that the advise given here applies to your visa office and not some other

I submitted a copy to the London office, and it was acceptable...

You are required to send notarized copy of infant birth certificate... They normally don't ask for originals.... if they specifically ask then only provide...

I submitted photocopies of birth certificates...not notarzied and were accepted.

If originals sent, u will get them for sure.
