Hello,
I am a doctor working in United Kingdom. I am a Permanent Residence Card holder. I have an infant baby who is born in UK. I want return back to Canada as soon as possible because now i got a job there and want to move soon. I want to know how can i take my infant baby to Canada with me? What visa i need to apply under? Can i apply for Visitor Visa which they say Temporary Residence Visa also? and if it is a case of sponsor can i sponsor while i am in uk or one parent needs to go to canada and then sponsor. On filling the Visa form, they ask what is the purpose of the visit, What should i write there relating to the reason told above.
Please let me know as soon as possible as i dont have time to waste.
Thanks.

If the baby has a visa exempted passport (such as British passport), the baby can go with you to Canada. As soon as you and the baby are in Canada, you can sponsor it as PR.

If the baby has a citizenship where it is visa exempt to Canada, you can just plain take it with you and sponsor it for PR once you get to Canada. If the baby needs a visa, then you can try applying for a TRV (visitors visa) based on wanting to bring the baby to Canada in order to sponsor it. If you are denied a TRV for the baby which might happen because the intent is not for the baby to stay in Canada temporarily, you can try for a TRP which is a special permit for people to enter Canada anyway who may have a good reason to be there. Some people have succeeded with either one. If you are denied a TRP as well, one of you will have to go to Canada and sponsor the baby while the other one waits with the baby in the UK.
