This thread dedicated to all India CA who Had applied or Planning to Apply for Canada PR let join together share our  views about Case status,Further studies in canada, etc..Not sure this is good idea or not  but suggestion will be welcome

Not a bad idea. I appreciate your idea for ICAI members. I would like to suggest that members of ICAI should also share their job and work experience based in canada. Currently, i am in UK and I had done my medical on 09-07-2010 and waiting for VISA. Tell me something about yourself. Keep in touch

Hi,
I have applied in May batch with my second AOR dated 25th May. I too am a Chartered Accountant and planning to move to Canada. It is a good idea maybe we all can keep in touch so we can help each other if they come across an opportunity. I am just playing the waiting game now. Keep in touch guys.

I dont think any MRA/MOU was expected between CGA and ICAI. CGA has evaluated Indian CA study contents and they give advance standing to ICAI members. However, MRA between CICA and ICAI is under process since December 2009. I am also eagerly waiting for the same. CICA really has a great value in canadian job market.

ICAI and CGA will gain further insights into each other's structure and operation, regulatory framework, with emphasis on possible co-operation in respect of professional training, education and examination and technical research, as well as international representation on the peak bodies of the profession.""

Regarding MRA between CICA and ICAI, the talks are in finalization stage as per the ICAI president's message of Dececmber 27, 2009, which is as under,

My top priority has been the international positioning of brand CA India.To that end I aimed to have recognition arrangements in place with the Canadian accounting profession as well after our arrangements with UK and Australia. I am pleased to tell you that we are in the final phase of dialogue with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) and expect to capitalise a working arrangement with them soon. A similar arrangement is also under discussion with CGA-Canada. An arrangement with CPA Ireland will be unveiled soon while CPA Hong Kong has been approached for initiating the dialogue. As you can see, I am ensuring that we don't lose any time in making ICAI global.

Hi everyone.

No news on MRA with CGA. ICAI do not do what is important. Foreigndesk of ICAI is also not answering anything. What will be the status of COP when we land in Canada? Can we say that we are in full time practice or not? Sorry to say but foreigndesk must be shelved if they are not going to clarify anything.

How is canada for acounting professionals and what are you upto.Are u thinking of upgrading.If yes,r u going in for the CICA or CGA.It seems only CGA is providing exemptions from papers.Since u r there any news as to how many papers one has to appear for qualifying in the CGA.
