Hi,

I am currently staying in Canada as an International Student (w/ Student's Visa). My prospect employer wants to hire me as an Independent Contractor, doing a full-time job. British Columbia (and Canada) does not recognize my school as an eligible institution for a work permit (even Co-op). So we think we need to change my Visa status. Do anyone know how what we need to change my Student Visa to a Work Visa?

Also, it will be a software tester job and it will be done via internet.

Thanks in advance.

1.  The employer needs to get a Labour Market Opinion (Not the contractor) and if it is approved, then you can apply for a work permit.
