My husband (American Citizen) and I got married in August. He was here from May-November 2011, but has since gone back to the USA until May 2012.

My father always used to do my taxes for me, but he said this year I was on my own. How complicated does marriage to a non-resident MAKE it? I was hoping to do Turbo Tax but now I'm wondering if I need to go somewhere...

You can still use TurboTax.  just put the date you were married and your spouses income for the year.

It wont let me get past the first few pages because he doesn't have a SIN to enter. I was told by a tax company locally that we need to submit a paper return this year and he has to get an International Tax Number

not sure about this but somebody said to put 000 000 000 for his SIN number. I think that is what I'm gonna do.
