income Tax and Canadian Citizenship application process

Hello,
Does income tax have an impact on the Canadian Citizenship application process?.
My issue as following:
I'm student in Montréal since 2005 (master and PhD (in progress)) i did my Citizenship exam last week. The exam was ok and i think I will easily pass it. The officer asks me a couple of question which was ok too. I have legally stayed in Canada for more than 1095 days.
The officer ask my, what did you declare in your income tax for the last year (2010), I was honest and I answer: I did not declared my tax my tax for the last year yet because i was too busy in my study. I felt he wrote something on my file. Then he asks some more questions which was ok such as my address and my ID student card.
My questions:
Is there any relation between income tax and Citizenship application process?
Would you advice to harry up and declare my tax?
Would I be I subject for RQ ?
If anyone have some information please share your experience.
P.S i have low income which is about 10.000 + some family support.

They will not refuse your citizenship because you did not file your taxes on time but not filing taxes could also mean that you were not really living in Canada so it is possible that it will result in a residency questionnaire and a long delay of your citizenship because of that.
