When is the best time to fill income tax. We are not about how and when to start filling and will like to include my spouse whose has zero income; as at this moment he not yet a resident(No SIN) as we are still waiting on immigration process to be complete.. Your opinion will help alot...Thanks in advance

File your taxes at the normal time, in spring 2012, if your spouse has not yet landed then you put NRA in the SIN field...

I used the program on line at intuit.ca and was able to efile it myself...some people have had problems with other programs...

His income will not be NIL. You will have to include his WORLD WIDE INCOME, that is, the total income he earned in calendar year 2011 in or outside Canada whether or whether not he is a resident and has a PIN. Call 1-800-959-8281 and press * to speak to an operator. Get all your clarifications and answers to your queries there.

you are right, if he has income from elsewhere you have to claim it, and if its US money, if you go to the bank of canada website, you can do the conversion...now if your spouse has not worked then you claim nil, but the world income has to be claimed, and also converted to canadian dollars....
