Income and Pay Stub questions

Hello Everyone,

Does the VO in Singapore require a pay stub from the sponsor? When I sent in my sponsorship package to CIC I attached required income information, but I did not include a pay stub. Does Singapore require additional income information such as pay stub, letter of employment, etc.. Have anyone on this board has been ask to provide such proof?

The reason I am asking is because I miss my wife and want to visit her, but my job will not allow it. So I am thinking of quitting and just go and visit my wife and wait with her until she is granted her visa.

Another quick questions is, does using a immigration lawyer speed up the process? I did the application myself and so far I have not heard anything from the VO in Singapore.

No, the visa post will not need your paystub.  However, they will have to be assured that you can financially support yourselves upon settling in Canada. Are you a citizen or a PR?

Yes I am a Canadian Citizen, as for financially supporting each other I have a fair amount saved up so that I am able to quite my job and visit my wife. The only thing I'm scared of is that if they ask for a recent pay stub, I will not be able to provide it for them. Rather I will only be able to show them what is in my saving account.

It shouldn't matter. Having had a good job should be enough proof that you will be able to support your wife, so if they ask for proof of income show them proof of your old job and proof of your savings.

Hiring a lawyer is not supposed to speed up the process. Besides, you have already sent in your forms, so hiring one now would be useless. Singapore is a slow processing office - CIC says 80% of cases are processed within 18 months.

Thought I was losing my mind for a second when I realized that he added this question after I had responded to his first!  Brain is still intact.

canadianwoman is right.  Hiring a lawyer or a consultant does not speed up the process.  What hiring a representative is SUPPOSED to do for you is ensure that your application is done correctly utilizing the Act, Regulations and Manuals to ensure that your case has been presented in an honest and convincing fashion to the visa post.  Getting it done RIGHT from the outset often makes the process faster.  Many people do this themselves very successfully.  Others don't.  But hiring a rep after already filing would only really help you if you totally mucked up your application and had to withdraw and re-file.

Hi, rjessome. Two-day flights are never great, but everything is OK now. I just wish I had a job here.
