hie everyone, im jus wondering, how long applications generally take to process at local cic offices, say the calgary office? are the backlogs there as bad as other bigger cities?   and when an application is transfered to a local office, is that still regarded as first stage processing? would second stage processing start there eventually too if all is found to ok?

im thinking it would be great if we all sent in recommendations to minister jason kenney as to how to deal with backlogs at local cic offices and in general for spousal in land sponsorhsip, dont you all think?

thanx again.

borrowdale, you didn't file in 2011. The 2011 thread isn't going to be much help to you as far as timelines go and talking with people who filed around the same time as you.

The chances of you being sent to local office without AIP is slim unless there is something you aren't sharing. If there isn't, stop assuming so and dwelling on it. Unless you are given something to worry (which you aren't) then don't worry about it. And no, talking to Mr. Kenney isn't going to do anything. They figure you are already in Canada with your family, you can afford to wait. Yes, it stinks but that is how they work. They tell you everywhere on their site and guides that if you want to benefit from appeal, being able to leave Canada, and faster processing then you have to apply Outland. So in their eyes, we have been told.
