I'm searching for info on how to take my car with me.

I still have some time to go, as I was just asked for my medicals, but would still like to be informed.

I found this site
http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/importation/impxus_e.htm
But I find it confusing, on the first paragraph it states:
Quote
"Vehicles manufactured for sale in countries other than Canada and the United States do not comply with the requirements of the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act, CANNOT be altered to comply and CANNOT be imported into Canada."

The second paragraph seems to contradict the first one in some cases...

Quote
"Vehicles acquired in foreign countries other than the U.S. and designed, built, tested and certified to meet either all applicable Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or all applicable United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and bearing a statement of compliance label affixed by the original manufacturer, as required by the Regulations, may be eligible for importation into Canada provided the vehicle has not been altered and the certification from the original manufacturer is maintained"
My car is a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS (built in Japan) bought in Mexico.

I understand it is a difficult question, but any experience or opinions are greatly accepted.

If it was sold in Mexico, then it has to have a US compliant label, which I doubt that it has.  If it was built after Sept 2007 it is inadmissible see: www.riv.ca
