So here is lil bit of my case background and the question.

My wife whos a canadian citizen sposored me, everything went fine and recently i recieved the passport request and also asked to pay RPR fee. Also My wife and i live in canada, but i applied through new delhi because everyone advised me to do that.

Since they asked for my passport, it seems they are pretty close to making a decision. They also asked me to send them an indian address because they wont mail my passport out of india. Which I did and once they mail the passport to that address, my family will mail it to me here.

Now my question is, what happens after that. Once i recieve my passport, what do i do, do i just cross into the US and then cross back into canada to complete the permanent residency process ? I live couple of hours from US border so it will be the cheapest and the fastest way for me.

or do i have to go to india and then come back to Canada to complete the process?

Please advice

thanks in advance.

1.  First you know that it is illegal to mail passports in or out of India?  So your family may have problems.
2.  You have a choice for "landing" you can go the nearest Border Port, and "flagpole" The US officer will give you a rejection letter (no effect on future US trips) and then you return to the Canadian office and tell them you wish to "land"
3.  Or you can phone the call centre and get an appointment to "land" at an inland CIC, 1-2 months for the appointment.
