Just for clarification, does discussion apply to Pre June26 applications? I have a PCC taken on July5th, I am not going get an AOR till September and I may not be able to submit to VO till Oct. end.
Thanks in advance.
Dear srid_a, The PCC validity rule always has been for 3 months (to submit it) Once you submit it, it is valid for 12 months. So if you already have the PCC, and if you can submit it, do it. Looking at what you say, I am afraid, it will not be valid till October'10 (for submitting purposes) Good Luck!!

Dear All,
Well I have sent my original pcc to CIO already (on 30th July), and have a notarized copy of the same.
If they accept my file, and my VO asks for a new PCC, I will provide that.
But I dont think that will be required, as the validity of a PCC always was (and again, is) for 12 month 'after sumitting them'
Hope im correct Cheers!!
Everybody Pls. note something:PCC is valid for 1 year , but it should not be more then 3 months old when you submit it to the VO. Now nobody of the Post 26 June applicants are anywhere near that stage when their application is being transfered & processed at the VO. SO YOUR PCC IS NOT VALID AS OF NOW UNLESS YOUR FILE IS TRANSFERRED WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF YOUR PCC TO THE VO. YOUR 1 YEAR IS NOT COUNTED AS OF NOW. Hope that clears up things....!

Hi, In my country getting a PCC is relatively easy so I would not mind sending a new one to VO if it expires.

I already have my PCC with me. So I plan to submit it together with the documents. I'll just put a post-it saying to throw it away if not needed. Because submitting it or not, I would still need to request a new one when VO request for it. So I might as well submit it, because it is still in the VO checklist. Not sure though if they won't throw it, and instead, throw the whole application back at me

@ Oh Canadiana In the new form IMM0008 (Schedule 3) - Section No.12, are we supposed to list in order of preference only experiences of eligible NOCs (I mean, 38 NOCs in the past, 29 NOCs now), or we have to list up all our experiences, regardless of their NOC) Appreciate any advice about this. Thanks a lot!

Save it for another day or just use it to get a new one....

CIO is saying that not to send PCC to them in the initial stage but on the other hand they do need visa office documents as well and in the visa office (London) checklist it is clearly mentioned that PCC should be submitted.. Now what to do? if we dont submit it then the visa office checklist wont be completed.

Dear srid_a,

For applications submitted prior to June 26th, however, the PCCs could not be older than 3 months from the date the application was received at CIO-Sydney. There was no 1 year validity rule, at least not written, but visa officers could request new ones at any time. Srid_a, yours should be OK.
For applications submitted now, once again, it is no longer the application date to CIO-Sydney, but the application date to the local visa office that you must consider - PCCs cannot be older than 3 months when they are submitted to the local visa office.
As for those submitted between June 26 and yesterday's posted rule change, who knows

As the rule changed in last week so the people applied till last week or before has already sent the PCC. In any case the application is not expected to be processed before 2 months as currently they are delaing with May 2010. By the time July 10 or Aug 10 applications turns comes up the current PCC would be expire (3 months time limit).
May be it is worth sending if you are using old form and posting application in this week. Or a photocopy is OK after that.

my questions :
since new rule states that all visa office checklist documents to be submitted to CIO are all photocopies.
what happens to the university transcripts that are meant to be in university sealed envelopes ( my visa office is Accra). are we going to open it or write a cover note stating why its not included.

Hello @ loyer - Transcripts should anyway be original in sealed envelope... I have applied for PCC just yesterday was confused about it being required or not by CIO with my initial application... But today i came across this thread and now not sending it with my initial application which i am sending after i receive my Passport back from Passport Office.. unnecessary delay..

I am not an expert at Canadian Immigration. Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

You and Ohcanadiana are absolutely correct. I think Ohcanadiana did the right thing to start a new thread specifying the changes especially with PCC submission. Actually, if we see, it is clearly written in the CIO checklist "Gather and Submit all the documents listed on both checklists". This makes people believe that PCC has to be submitted along with other documents to CIO. Now as per guidelines EG7, July edition, they have specifically clarify this issue of PCC that do not send PCC to CIO instead submit it to VO if your file is processed.

Simply, at the time of submission to CIO, PCC should not be older than three month, whereby it remains live for one year, during that period, one is likely to get his final stamp. Also the updated checklist clearly demonstrates the requirement of PCC to be sent to CIO...
