I send my first application as FSW on 22 November 2010 at CIO in Sydney. I also noticed my credit card had been debited by the CIO office on 8 Dec 2010. When can i expect my first AOR?Huh

Did you get any transaction verification call from your credit card provider company?

As CVV number was not required in older forms, how do they process transaction without CVV, using your Address?

If someone can specify transaction brief detail like Name of organization/entity for which Amount got debited then it would be helpful to others too.

Hi PMM,

We submitted everything in the checklist except PCC as we are yet to receive the same and the Bufflo checklist had the following note:

If your application is received at the CIO on or after June 26, 2010, you are strongly encouraged to submit your police certificates with your application to the CIO. If you are unable to obtain all the necessary police certificates, you may still send your application to the CIO without them. However, please note that if your application is placed into processing you must be ready to submit them to the visa office when requested.

I hope tht is fine?? We will be submitting the PCC asap..

Thanks!

Hi guys,
I just wondered that,
Do they get our medical request at nearest place of my home or it can be anywhere in India?
Also what can be an estimated cost for the same?

You can choose the physician from the list of Designated Medical Practitioners at http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx.  The cost varies from physician to physician so it is best to call and inquire about the pricing directly.

These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience.  I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information.  Good luck with your application!  Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

Very useful threads...and thanks everybody for your inputs.

I have 3 questions:
1-for PCC, I live in Saudi Arabia and as per the instructions, I don't have to send it along with my initial application to CIO until I receive a request letter. If I manage, somehow, to get a PCC that's not addressed to CIC (let's say it's addressed to my current employer or to an embassy), would that be accepted? after all, it would still say that I have a clean background and it's an original letter.

2-for my documents copies, is it ok to get them notarized by DHL guys for example?

3-just to verify, for my degrees, I'll have to submit only documents for my Bachelor and Master degrees only right? do I need to submit copies of my secondy and elementry certificates too (I think I've lost them Embarrassed)

Thanks

Hello,

1. According to the latest update applicants are advised to send PCC with their initial application to CIO. If one fails to do so then he can still send his application to CIO and in that case VO will request for PCC. Please not that while submitting PCC, it's issuing date must not be more than 3 months.
2. You must notarise your docs by an Notary public.
3. Secondary is not needed. You must submit notarize copy of Bachelor and Master's degree certificate and original transcripts(transcripts should be sealed in university envelop)

Thanks Doc.  Cheesy

but is it fine if the PCC is addressed to an organisation other than the CIC? even if it's less than 3 months old.

I dont know about Saudi rules. In my country PCC is handed over to applicant after 10 days(from the date of applying for PCC).
CIC never mentioned to send PCC directly to CIO from issuing centre, it is the applicant who will send it to CIO/VO.
Same goes for IELTS. You can not request IELTS centre to send your Original IELTS(only general training IELTS is acceptable) to CIO. It is applicant's duty to send IELTS result together with other docs directly to CIO.

I also sent in my application today by courier (FEDEX). I just realised now reading this thread that the payment form had been changed to include CVV. I used the old form as i wasn't aware. I hope my application will not be returned.

Hi people,

I'm new here, I'll be sending my application in this Friday. Great forum, it's been very helpful while I was trying to get my head around what is required by the CIO.

I'll keep you posted,

Cheers
