Implicit stay once you apply for Canadian PR

Hi,
I am about to apply for Canadian PR and would like to know, whether I can stay in Canada implicitly, after applying for PR, after my WP expires in Jul,'2012 or do i need extend the visa till the time i receive the PR.

Your application does not give you any status in Canada until you get your PR. Until then, you must apply to extend your work visa if you want to stay or change your status to visitor.

Thanks Leon.
About visitor visa, whats the duration and how many months it can extended further.
Am optimistic, that I will receive the PR before my WP visa expires in Jul,'2012, but wanted to keep alternative options Open.

I think they usually give you 6 months at a time but you can continue to extend as long as they don't think you will overstay and you can prove you can support yourself.
