impact on my CEC PR application..pls reply

Hi,
   My husband(had closed WP)  and myself(openWP) have applied for Work permit extensions.

My husband applied for LMO 3 months before but haven't received any response yet. So his employer decided to extend the WP before expiry so that he has "implied status". I'm pregnant now and decided to take my materntity leave from Nov 2011.

Our lawyer suggested to apply for both visitor and open work permit extensions for me (for the wife) just to be on the safer side.

We also applied our PR in Aug 2011 and got our AOR in sept 2011.

Just wanted to know how would our PR application get impacted in case of something worse happens ?

1) If my OWP gets rejected, I would be having my visitor in implied status /  Should i leave Canada  ?

2) Is it better for us (both me and my husband) to go back to our home country before we hear any WP decisions ?

3) Is it worth to be on implied status until we hear about our medical requests ?

3) How would it impact my PR application if WP gets rejected ?
