Hi,anyone using or used immigration unit's services?i saw an advert of theirs in the paper, and called them immediately,i want to go to canada. They gave me a free assesment and said i could go by doing a plumbing course there. It sounds fantastic so i decided to pay my fee and go ahead with the process.Just wanna know if i did the right thing,as they are a new company, couldnt find out much about them on the net.It would be very useful if there was someone else out there who has ised them and could tell me their experiences?Thankyou

Hi Potter

Hiring a representative could help you a lot on the filling and tracking purpose, but there are so many things you should know about who will be the good one before you get one.

See the following Link in order to verify if you did a good choice

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/consultants/index.html

I did hire a representative and I have not complaint so far. It is David Cohen at www.Canadavisa.com

Hi,

I am thinking about using the same company. They have assessed me and say that I am eligible for going and study for electrician course.
They charge a lot, mostly for the electrician course and I couldn't find anything about that company in the web.
Has anyone used them? I would be very grateful if someone could help me or tell me how could I find anything about them.
There is nothing about that company on Canadian Council of Better Business Bureaus http://www.ccbbb.ca/investigate.cfm

Is there any other way to check this company?
I would be very grateful for any help. Thank you.

Be careful, very careful.  Do you think that you can become an electrician or plumber by taking a short course.  See: http://www.cicic.ca/en/professions.aspx?sortcode=2.19.21&prof=7251 for the requirements for those jobs.

Thank you for reply. I am careful and that's why I am asking.
I realize that electrician course last 3 - 4 years. The thing is that doing the course/ apprenticeship
in Canada I would be paid fair money so I would manage to pay my bills and live. Here in Scotland I would be paid 80Ł a week during the apprenticeship. With high cost of living in UK it is just impossible. At last as far as I know.
I have another quastion. Do I need to finish my full apprenticeship to apply for Permanent Residency?

Hi Potter and Ombert,
Will any of you please share with us the contact details of this company you both are talking about. If you do, then I have the proper way to check about this company. Just send me the contact details please, and where you got these details, I'll check every thing about the company and keep you updated.
Best of Luck,

I found the advert in local newspaper in the UK.
The link to web site is: www.tradejobsabroad.com

If you could, please check the company which they liaise with in Canada:
Relocation Unit ltd. I have been unable to find anything about them neither.

I would be very, very grateful for yor help hammadsanaa

HI
i know its late after the topic was posted but i just found it , the thing is we have signed up with them , their job placement team have not helped us one bit and they promised us to be there in weeks , but its been one year we have no visa or job and they have our fee so they havent even kept the no visa no fee not sure about the college course , but we were going job placement they just keep giving excuses very lame ones we got nothing like what we promised and are still waiting to either get there or get our money back ... i so wanted it to be true i woudl say be very very careful .We have also been told from others that the advice they are giving is very dubious , i sincerely hope its not and it will be fine for you , but i feel its my duty to simply say whats happened to us.....

Thanks so much for replying.  I'm really sorry its turned out that way for you, I really hope they get their act together and sort it out.

I've looked through nearly every forum and can't find anyone who has gone through with them.  I think I will give them a miss as I emailed them on friday for a full list of the courses that can be studied at college and all I received was 8 automated emails back saying they had received my email but did not bother to actually send the info I asked for.

Let me know how you get on and I really hope you get there.

Regards

Lu

Hi Lu ,
I want to say go for it , but i cannot , we were told last spring we would be there by september ,and since they were offering guaranteed job offers we told the school s, we look total fools, and the children are heartbroken , we have called them on their no visa no fee but nothing doing as they havent not got us a visa yet, and we have since taken opinions form inside Canada and they dont actually think we would even get PR this whole mess with them has torn us inside out my children included.

The director said he would take up our case personally whilst on vacation ...and me the fool i am beleived him but that was last august, and we heard nothing , replies are virtually nil , we gave them an ultimatum , and nothing , so we have wasted a year during which time we could have wiped a year of our official wait and now my daughter is choosing ehr options and i wanted ot move b4 them and told them it was crucial, is a mess i dont see how it can ever happen and we are several grand down.!
i wish you the best of luck
