Dear friends,

Can you tell me that how long it takes for Afghans to immigrate to canada as refugee?
I mean some afghans who can n't live in afghanistan then they come to pakistan and apply for immigration to canadian embassy in pakistan.
this is a governmental type sponsorship.

Actually, my afghan friend asked me today about this but i didn't have any answer for that.

the processing time from Pakistan is almost 23 months. I am not sure can he apply from another country?processing time is differenet from different offices. From syria takes 8 months.

I have heard that the processing time for those afghans who wish to immigrate as refugees is different.
So, do u have any idea in this regard?

Is there any reason why Afghan cases are delayed in CIC Canada high commission?
My Afghan friends are really very disappointed. And discourage each other and even us for not applying for Immigration to Canada.

Hi,
 If they applied as a refugie inside canada, I know takes almost 3- 4 years to become as a permanent residence.So they are not as a goverment sponcering refugies. But if you are applying through the other country, the process is much shorter than inside canada. They believe you are allredy in canada and  you are safe.
