Hello everybody,

i was looking around here but couldn't find anything which would answer the question(s) i have, if i did miss it, please lead me there! Smiley thank you !

My Case:

I'm German nationality, currently present in Montreal, Quebec, with a Working Holiday Visa since July 2010, found a job already, and have decided to go for perm. residency for the province Quebec. My Job is in demand, (NOC) so, it shouldn't be a problem regarding that one.

Can I apply for permanent residency from inside Canada?  (Colleagues at work told me i can do that apparently)

If yes, (I am aware of the "CSQ" !  ) I just couldn't find any useful information where to send it then?!

Can somebody help me out, please ?!

thank you,

bye, lepatissier07

Hello,

sorry for the delay,

thank you the quick reply.

i had a look at referred website and found some answers, but not the main ones i was looking for.

Like:    Can i apply from inside canada (montreal, quebec) as well? Are these the same addresses as shown on the website?

hi again,

thanks a lot for the quick reply again.

Ok, then I will get the documents ready. I just wasn't sure. I also read about the TEFAQ test. I guess it is mandatory to do one, even if I spent 3,5 years working in france?!

Hello lepatissier07..

No, in fact the TEFAQ is not mandatory.
Do u have any knowledge about french?! I guess after 3.5 years working in france u surely have.

What is mandatory is to have the ability to survive in a french speaking community.
You proof that either by proving ur adaptability and linguitic skills or even ur eagerness to learn and use french.

So, u can apply now and meanwhile work on improving ur french.

TEFAQ itself is not mandatory.

I hope u got my point.

Bonne chance Wink

hello again,

thank you for the quick reply, once again. a very reliable forum!

Yes, I get your point, Smiley well, I do speak most of the time  french since i'm here, and my Mrs. is from quebec, so our base is the french language.

Ok, then I will have a look how to pay the fee and will send the application letter.

I keep you posted. Smiley

Hey 'again' lepatissier07..

So, u were living/working in France..
U currently live/work in Quebec..
U speak french..(no wonder)..
Ur wife is quebecoise..

Hmm..very well.

Have u thought about ur wife to sponsor u, rather than applying under skilled worker category?!
For how long u have been married?!

It's just a suggestion to take into consideration.

Good luck in whatever way u go in..

Ciao

hi,

i'm afraid i have to correct myself with mentioning "my Mrs." . I'm not married, i just call my girlfriend my "Mrs", even if we're already 4years together and not married.

anyway, i always thought about the sponsoring, but didn't really consider it. I heard rumors from other candidates which had to supply further documents which that they are together already for a certain period of time by sending pictures from them with the date being shown IN the picture, like the cams do it today, and other documents. I just wanted to avoid paperwork, as well as giving the immigration officer the wrong impression and thinking i would use my girlfriend to get easier to Canada. As I said, just wanted to avoid paperwork. I guess there will be enough paperwork coming up. I  have been travelling a lot the last couple of years, England, France, New Zealand, and I've heard from other people that i would need for every country where I've stayed for longer than 6 months i do need a Police Clearance/Police Certificate. Alone that one will cause me a lots of headache already... how to get these. Especially from New Zealand. (Down-under....)   Huh Roll Eyes

ah,

one more thing, please

i have also heard, that once you have the "quebec permanent residency" and you want to stay in another part of canada, like we have planned so far we want to go further west, BC,Alberta....   you also have to do the same process again? Because it would be only valid for the province Quebec, is that true?

In regards to this it is NOT correct.
The issued PR is Canada wide, since it's issued by the government of Canada, not Quebec. In other words you can move to any province you want.

Have a good one.

Hi again,

Happy New Year everybody! All the best!

well, I've sent about 6weeks ago (beginning of December 2010) my CSQ, no answer yet...takes some time i guess.

Anyway, at the moment I'm with a Working Holiday Visa (Multiple Entry,German Nationality) here in Montreal,
and it will expire in mid July 2011.

1. Would it be early enough to apply for an extension in March 2011?

2. I guess I send it to the same address where I've sent the Perm. Residency Application?! (Some Montreal Immigration Service)

3. I guess that I also will be allowed to continue to work at my current job?!

Am I right with these "assumptions" ?! Smiley
