Immigration from Paris, France

Dear PMM,

I had submitted my case for immigration in April 2004 in France. I did not heared anything yet from there. I am wondering becasue another colleague of mine submitted case later then me and his case decided only within two years. Why my case is talking so long although my all documents are uptodate. At the time when I submitted my application, I was residing in Geneva. However, now I moved to Darfur, Sudan to work with United Nations. I informed the Visa office in Paris accordingly. Does my new address or my work has any negative affect on my application.
