Hello everyone,

My girlfriend lives in Ireland, and she wants to move to Canada to live with me. I am a Canadian citizen with no criminal record.

Eventually, she'd like to become a Canadian Citizen, as well as bring her children here, also.

We are both entirely new to this, so any help would be appreciated.

How do we go about doing this? How long can she stay here without being a citizen?

Get married, then sponsor her as your spouse.

She will be a PR first, then after 3 years in Canada can apply for citizenship.

If you can manage to live together for 12 months in a marriage like relationship, she can be sponsored as a common law wife. If she is an Irish citizen, I believe she can come to Canada on a tourist visa for 6 months.

Best to get married.....much simpler.
