Hello everyone.  I am an American citizen recently married to a Canadian citizen.  I am filling out the paperwork to apply for permanent residence. The form says to enter my name as it appears on my passport.  Currently, my passport has my previous last name, not my married last name.  I don't think I can change it on my passport until I receive my marriage certificate, but I do plan on doing this.  What do you advise I should put as my last name on the permanent residence application?  Thanks in advance.

Submit your application with your maiden name, a copy of your passport, and a copy of your marriage certificate.  Attach a note that says you will send an updated application and new copy of your passport as soon as you have them.
