Hi everyone. I am currently facing a dilemma regarding Canadian immigration.I would like the seniors in here to help me in choosing between wether to self apply or to engage an immigrant consultant.I live in Karachi, Pakistan and initially I was inclined towards choosing an immigrant consultant to file my case but as time went by and I completed collecting documents required to go with the application , I thought to my self that self filing is also an option ,especially since I do no have to pay the exorbitant consultant fee .

Now my question to all of you out there,

What is the benefit of engaging an immigration consultant as opposed to self filng? There should be a huge and a clear benefit to justify the 1000 - 2000 dollars fee which these consultants are charging . I personally don't find the fee justified, but all these consultants claim , that them being experts, the application is bound to look different from what a self filed application would look like.and thus, better chances of a successful application.so do you agree?

Please help me out with this dilemma guys . I can afford to pay a consultant , but at the same time I would only like to pay them if they are providing me value for my money. So does any of think it is worth it to pay these consultants if one can afford it ?

My opinion:

if you have time to read, understand all immigration related forms, if you able to fillout all those forms, send courrier or post on time to CIO or visa office, provide missing documents to visa office (if requested) than no need for consultant.
If you dont have time to go through instructions and send courrier than hire consultant. (remember you have to provide all documents to consultant. this consultants just fill our forms and send courriers/post to visa office and CIO thats it).

You can do it yourself. Just read manuals and keep in mind:
1. your application should give an impression that you are well established person who would be even better off in Canada.
2. all question that could pop in the mind of visa officer are answered by the documents, letters, papers etc. in your package.
3. all the papers you put in your package should be verified one way or the other.

Thanks guys . Time is really a premium commodity as far as I am concerned. I work six days a week for 10 hours a day , but even then I find paying consultants a senseless thing to do..i would really appreciate if I could talk to someone privately who has recently applied for immigration. Someone preferably from Pakistan and even more preferable if the person is from Karachi . My email address is Hassan_sardar @ hotmail.com..thanking in advance
