hi every0ne. My friend (ontario based) hired d service of a certified immigrati0n consultant/lawyer to fix her divorce papers (husbnd in phils). Lawyer is charging her 1500 for d process and an0ther 1500 for her pr owp applicatn. Just wondering if representative fees are regulated and are they required to issue oficial receipts and can she get tax credits for it?

Sorry, but there is no regulation in Canada for the fees of lawyers and consultants.  They can charge whatever they want.

You may expect the fees to be reasonable, but the consultant can charge what ever the traffic will bear.

The first $1500 is for application fees paid to the government of Canada.  It is NOT the lawyer's fees.  The other $1500 for an OWP and PR application is a bargain.
