Hello,

Would like to know about the possible routes of federal immigration for academically and professionally qualified agricultural professionals.

Will "Biologists and related scientists" include agricultural professionals?
What about self-employment?
Is farm business and attractive option for Canadian immigrants?

Thank you for a reply in advance.

These are the main duties under NOC 2121 - Biologists and Related Scientists

Main duties

Biologists perform some or all of the following duties:

•Plan and conduct studies of the environment, and of the population, distribution, structure and functional characteristics and behaviour of plants and animals
•Conduct ecological and environmental impact studies and prepare reports
•Study, identify and classify plant and animal specimens
•Conduct experiments in plant or animal growth, heredity and breeding
•Prepare reports and plans for management of renewable resources
•May supervise biological technologists and technicians and other scientists.

These are job titles (related to agriculture) mentioned under NOC 2121 - Biologists and Related Scientists

agricultural scientist
agriculture research officer – military
research officer, agriculture – military

If you feel your duties are somewhat similar to the listed main duties above, then you can apply for it. Unfortunately, NOC 2121 is already cap reached in reality. Just wait on July 2012 new NOC list.
