US Citizen, 24 years old, currently living in Michigan

I have been dating a Canadian citizen for over a year and a half now, and am looking to make the jump across the border. I finished my bachelors degree in Computer Science with a Minor in Business Administration in the Spring of 09, and currently have almost a year of full time and a year and a half of part time relevant work experience (as well as various internships in other aspects related to CS). We would prefer to be able to live in Ontario, Saskatchewan, or Alberta due to proximity to her family, however we are flexible. She is currently a student, so I would need to be able to work upon arriving in Canada. What would be the best course of action?
