ppl is short for people.  It's not an immigration acronym, more of an internet chat acronym.  You can find chat acronyms at http://www.sharpened.net/glossary/acronym.php?PPL

Do the CAIPS notes apply to people who aren't overseas, ex. Mexico?  How would one go about obtaining a copy of these?

Under the Federal Skilled Worker category of Canadian immigration, applications must be submitted to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney Nova Scotia.

Thank you for this invaluable thread.  I am an American who has strongly been considering emmigrating to Canada, and I know nothing about the process.

As I have lurked on this forum but a short time, I see there are great complexities involved.  Should I continue my interest with migration, this forum will prove to be a great tool in establishing and furthering this education I am preparing to embark upon, which may turn into the adventure of a lifetime.

If I really do emmigrate, I intend to remain the same law abiding, quiet, respecting person who practices the Golden Rule just as I always have in the US.

Welcome to the forum, Brenda Sue

This is a very good website to answer your questions once you get started on your immigration but more importantly you should go to the official website of immigration Canada at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp and look into the different immigration classes which you may qualify for.

Thank you very much, Leon.  I have heard much good about Canada.  It seems to have its act together about a number of issues.   Smiley
