How many photos you need depends on the persons country. I have to provide 9.

Should my spouse write her name date and signature on all 9 photos?

No. I wrote my names and date of birth on each photo. I was asked to resend the photos.

You were asked to resend because you wrote it on each photo?

So I should just write it on one?

The instructions my wife's specific country  asked for one photo only to be written on. I erred and wrote on all, and the embassy asked for new photos.   The instructions for your specific country will be precise about how to deal with photos.  Read them and follow them to the letter.

I don't know what your wife's specific country is but mine sure doesn't sound too precise.

'Supply 9 recent photos for each member of your family and yourself. Photos submitted must be properly labeled at the back with the applicant's name, date of birth and signature.'

I believe they mean 1 because all 9 photos are the same coming from the same camera its not like you are submiting 9 different photos becaue in the guide it says all photos must be the same and come from the same negative film

The photos must:
be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera.

You're right: your instructions are ambiguous. I would play it safe and present TWO sets of photos:  one set with only one photo labelled; a second set with all photos labelled.  For the small cost of the extra photos you could save a lot of time. I think that if the VO sees a deficiency in your application (e.g. photos with incorrect labeling), they put it aside until the deficiency is corrected.

Hi,

You must label all of the 9 photos. You must write your name, date of birth, and signature.

Please see page A-3 point #15 of the following link,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3913e.pdf

Cheers,

p.s: My VO was Tokyo

I checked through my guide for applications made in Malaysia but could not find any guidance on what to write and on how many copies for my photos. I only have the guide for my photo size. I would appreciate any guidance from any members here who had gone through Malaysia office for their application.
