I am an indian planning to apply under skilled workers category. My scenario is as follows.

Occupation : Software Performance Tester
Currently Working In : Singapore
Planning to apply In : Feb / March 2011

Can the expert guide me that is this the right time to apply for Immigiration under Skilled Workers Category for Software Engg ?

If you haven't at least one years experience in the list of "29" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list  and haven't worked or studied in Canada, you will not qualify for Federal Skilled Worker.  If you don't have an Approved Employment Opinion from a Canadian employer, certified by Service Canada, you don't qualify for Federal Skilled work 2.

My profile doesn't falls under the 29 list. I think, i need to wait for a while to get my job profile displayed in the list.

You still can consider doing master degree in Canada, get an employment contract or try nonfederal programs run by specific provinces like quebec, if in case any of these options work for you.

I'm not sure if waiting till CIC adds software Eng. to the NOC list is wise. Anyway, good luck.

it is very difficult to find a job in Canada without interview....! So wait and see if the NOC list changes in ever of you...

Well it might be difficult but nit impossible. I know people who managed to do phone interviews after being recommended by contacts back there in Canada. If you have contacts, you'd be better than others.

One good thing also to try is for you and all other people who expect to land soon is to buy a Canadian phone number. You can do this online. Just google it and you will find affordable offers.

By putting a local Canadian phone number, chances are higher that you will get interview calls. One fellow of this forum had a job within couple of days of landing based on set of remote interviews and final one took place just after landing.

Don't loose hope. Waiting a revised NOC list will take you nowhere.
