your net personal income for the 12-month period preceding the date of your application.

Would like to clarify " net personal income " .

also, the 12 month period preceding the date of your application.  I was thinking my 2010 tax line 150 total income from Jan. 01 2010 to Dec. 31. 2010 would be good enough?

Or do they want March 30 2010 to March 30 2011 since we signed the app. papers on March 30, 2011?

I would put your net personal income from the last twelve months as they request. If it's not much, or less than it would normally be explain why.

I put the last 12 mnths as they have asked....they also ask for your job history and annual income for the last 5 yrs remember...? So..I guess they would do the math!!! I wasn't even precise...just calclulated a roungh figure for the last 12 mnths..
You also hv your Option C to go along with your application..so don't worry too much abt the exact figure...!
