Me a canadian caucasian and my husband east indian on a student visa for the past 2 years were married 2 months ago after living together for 1.5 years. We were filling out the applications necessary so that i can sponsor him to immigrate to canada. IMM 1344 A section E question 5, Are you in receipt of social assistance for a reson other than disability? is an "YES" in my case. But that was 15 years ago and only for a period of 2 months. Since then i had not asked for social assistance. WIll this be a liability and not allow me to be a sponsor?

The sentence is in the present tense, so if you are not collecting social assistance now, you answer no.
