I have my medical scheduled for June 24th..the lady said to bring 4 passport photos..ok, easy enough (little bit of confusion about what form(s) to bring) For the application, you need 4(ish) immigration photos which are a slightly different size, correct? Do you need to find a private photographer of some sort? I know plenty of places that do passport photos, but does anyone know if Walmart or some mainstream store does immigration ones? I've read over a few guides about photos and I think I've confused myself a bit because I've looked at too many different ones that may or may not have been meant for my application type If anyone could help clear this up with me, I'd really appreciate it =/...I want to make sure I bring the right stuff to my medical exam and the send in the right photos for my application....Spousal sponsorship btw Thank you!

My DMP asked for passport photos.
My sister works for AAA and they do photos for passports and stuff, and she took a big bunch of immigration size for me. I just took those and the DMP was very happy with them - they fit on the form better than the US passport ones.
I've had our passport photos done at costco too. I don't know if their camera has the size settings for immigration photos though.

If you're applying inland you can have your photos taken almost anywhere, but you should make sure that they conform to the CIC's standards 35x45mm for immigration photos, I don't remember the approved dimensions for passports but the info is in the passport application. Take Appendix C from the Immigration Guide (Photo Specifications) to your photographer to make sure that the sizes would match those accepted by CIC.
In my case, since I'm outland, I'm taking the photos at a designated photographer suggested by the Canadian embassy.

What I'm having trouble understanding is just how many photos I need taken...The DMP asked for 4 passport photos. Is this a different set of photos from the ones in the application? Do I give the DMP the passport photos and then with my PR app., send in the 4 immigration photos?

Also, Am I correct in understanding that I can send in my medical exam results/forms with my application for PR? Or was I suppose to send in the application and then do the medical when they ask for it? I'm being spousal sponsored outland from the US I'm going to feel pretty stupid if that's the case, I was pretty sure I had read that I could do it before I sent it in...that way my app. isn't slowed down by them having to request it? Also sending in my FBI clearance as well

Yes you can send your medical results with your application and your FBI clearance. If you look at the document checklist for US police clearance and proof of medical examination are rrequired. Here's the link of what documents you need to send: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3910e.pdf

Since you're outland, you need to submit eight Immigration photos along with your application forms, besides the 5 or 4 photos that are exclusively needed by the DMP for the medical exams. For my region, the DMP / Medical photos are different size than passport or immigration photos.
And yes, you must include your medicals AND security check along with the application.

Thank you, 8 immigration photos. And then I guess just 4 Passport photos for the DMP since that's what they asked for. I remember reading a guide somewhere about writing on one of the immigration photos and where to put them, I think its on the Application for PR form since that one has a space for them...I'll look it up when I get a chance Thank you everyone!

Where is the 8 immigration photos for the application coming from for the US? In #12 of the checklist (for photos), it clearly states 4.

No, eight photos for the region I'm in, for your specific region the number may be different. For the US, the region specific guide says four (4) immigration photos. Refer to Appendix A-2 in that guide for details.
