I think pretty much anywhere you have to pay cash for the medical. I have good health insurance and the doctor told me they didn't take insurance at all for immigration, only cash.

I  may be mistaken then, that's just what several doctors told me. Try calling a doctor's office, they will know. Smiley

IFH is completely different from Sponsorship Medical Exams .... GOOD LUCK!

Would anyone mind telling me how much were talking about?

I have really good insurance in the states, and the tests (urinalysis, blood work, x-ray, etc) I should be able to get done through a referral from my primary care physician.

Sorry if this is too personal a question.

I have my exam scheduled for this Friday with a doctor in Chicago for 220 dollars US including xray. It's strange because there are two doctors listed on the cic website for Chicago and I called the other and they wanted to charge over 400 dollars. The choice seemed easy for me lol. But anyway they said cash or check I couldn't even use a credit card.

I see. I called a few places and I got prices that ranged from 255- 495 USD. The $255 place said that it was $100 additionally for the lab tests/x-rays, but if I had insurance they would cover it. This is the only location that mentioned the utlization of insurance companies.

A woman at a Philadelphia office also mentioned to be that If I was going to enter into a health care profession, that I would have to be immunized for Hepatitis B and C.

Agreed. My husband paid around $160 in Canada (all in). I really feel for everyone who has to use an out of country DMP.
