as written in the application guide

You must submit language test results from a designated testing agency to the CIO with your application.

but in pre 26 june appl. you dont need tosend your ielts to cio, you only need to send it with your full document to VO, & the validity would be counted since your submission IA to cio

Your test results must not be more than one year old at the time that you submit your application.

Hi Sohaib,
It is valid for one year I copied for you this peice of information from a website dealing with the immigration canada and IELTS discussions:
The IELTS result validity period for Canada Immigration is 1 year. For instance, if you have taken the test on 2 January 2009 than it will vilid till 01 January 2010. Though the validity of IELTS itself is 2 years. So keeping in mind the validity period of IELTS test and your immigration case processing time you can decide the date of taking the IELTS
test.
Please see this link

by the way i love the name of SOHIBE too much and I am going to name my next son INSHA ALLAH SOHIBE
All my best,

Dear, the validity of IELTS taken by AEO has 2 yrs validity and British council 1yr. but the thing is what the validty required by Canadian. they mentioned in instruction guide that IELTS should not be more then one year old when u apply. in my case when i applied CIO sydney, my IELTS was valid. so i got 1st AOR. they gave me 120days for second application with complete documents, during this time it expired, so i took again and sent the new IELTS result, bcz many ppl guided me in forum that Now u r applying ur fresh application with all original documents to London Visa Office, how can u send an expired IELTS result? they had doubts that the fresh IELTS result might be asked by visa officer later so u will waste another few months.
So I decided to appear rather to be in confusion.

"Your test results must not be more than one year old at the time that you submit your application." I think anyone can stick to this line. If your test result is not more than one year older at the time of submitting your first application then you don't have to take another test unless the Visa Office ask for it.

thanks

what about if someone takes his/her IELTS and go for higher studies within one or two years in an English-speaking country. By the time he/she applies for immigration to Canada the validity of IELTS expires but he/she is living and studying in the UK, US or Australia. Do they have to take IELTS again or his/her IELTS result can be considered as valid? anyone has any experience? pl share.

thanks
