Hi.... ripon243..

Can any exp member clearify

Wheter validity starts from exam/result date.

Somebody says exam n another person says from result

Which one is true?

"Note:    For CIC purposes, applicants must submit results for the following tests of the TEF modules:
compréhension écrite (reading); compréhension orale (listening); expression écrite (writing);
expression orale (speaking). The lexique et structure (grammar and structure) test is not required
for Canadian immigration purposes. However, test candidates take it as part of the reading and
listening module.

Language test results must not be older than one year at the time of application.
R79(4) establishes these test results as "conclusive evidence" of the applicant's proficiency in that
language.Officers cannot":

Dear,
The above is real abstract from OP-6. For ur understanding i have highlited the word "result". You sat in exam on dec 06 and got result on dec 18.

However, it my understanding. I recommend you to wait for more comments of my respectable seniors.

As far as i know it is the EXAM DATE.
Logically speaking.......your skills for Language are tested in IELTS and the scores are considered by CIC........everyone knows that..!!
And there is a expiry date for it............the expiry date logically should be the date YOU WERE TESTED for your language skills not the day result was declared..!!

I gave my IELTS and got my result 2days back........the result sheet has the "DATE OF TEST" on the top in a BLOCK and result date is not mentioned significantly on it.

The RESULT DATE is the date when the Administrator signs on his/her evaluation.

On the TOP there is a note: "It is recommended that the candidates language ability as indicated in this Test Teport Form be re-assessed after two years from the DATE OF TEST".

Please be aware Above statement is from IELTS and not of CIC.

Hope this helps.
Seniors please comment..!!

I would like to ask about the IELTS equivalency chart. My application was made before 26 February 2008. As required by the visa office I sent my documents on August 2009, including the test results on July 2009 (I got 6.5 points) . On the website OP manual http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf  I find that the chart is changed on November 2008 and the explanation to this chart is Test score equivalency chart (applications received or test reports dated after November 28, 2008) and at the end is also a note :Visa officers should also assess applications and test reports which pre-date November 28, 2008, against the above correlation table if it is to the applicants advantage, i.e., resulting in more points for language proficiency.
For more information please refer to section 8 and 10 of the above manual.

This change makes a difference in my poins as according to the old one i get 66 points  - 10 poins from language proficiency (which menas refusal) and to the new one 68 points - 12 points from language proficiency (which means accepted)

Can anyone help me?
