PMM,

The problem with your link is that it refers to the Pre C-50 simplified process. Those FAQs you brought the information from predate the CIO and the current scheme.

Hi, this post is really great, because I'm in the same dilemma, I'm waiting to update my documents, in 2009 I decided the time was close to take the IELTS and be ready to get all the documents but the update letter didn't arrive and the 1yr validity of the IELTS expired in September 2010, i think I will get the update letter next month, should I take the IELTS again?

1. Process started in may/2007
2. took the IELTS in september 2009
3. Hope to get the update letter next month.

PMM you seems to know a lot of this issue, can you help me? should I expect to retake the IELTS exam? (basically Im asking this because my score was very good and because I dont want to throw 150 dollars to the trash)

Crosstantine - you are under the old system and so would need to have an IELTS score that is valid when your update letter arrives. IELTS score needs to be 1 year or less old when you submit to CHC. You will need to sit again.

Hi, I was checking the site of cic and found a very interesting group of documents about anything you want to know about the immigration process: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/ if you check the document labeled OP 6 (federal skilled workers) you would see the following statement in the section "Language test results":

Note: Language test results must not be older than one year at the time of application.

This means that if you took the IELTS prior the application it cannot be older than 1 year, if you took the IELTS after the application has been sent it will be valid until the process finished,

If I'm wrong please let me know,
