IELTS TEST

I  appeared in IELTS in USA and it was horrible listening test. They put the CD on an old tape recorder in a big hall and it was so mush ECHO and bouncing sound that nothing could be made out of the conversation. I did not attempt listening as I could not figure out what was going on. I would appreciate if some friends give their experience. I took the 4 tests on computer and  headphones and always got >35 correct answers ou of 40 questions. Do some centers provide headphones instead of PA  system or tape recorders? How to sove this problem? I have been asked to take IELTS by CHC London although I gave written submission and have been asked to submit by 28th August.

Its very strange. In my case they also have an tape recorder but first they asked us to listen to a test recording on CD and confirm them if we can hear that properly. If somebody in the hall have any problem they can adjust the volume. They didnt play the original CD until and unless each one of us was satisfied.

Also at the end of the test they have given us feedback form/complain form so that if we had any problem during test we can complain before leaving test room. Any complains made after leaving test room are not entertained I guess.

I took in Ohio,Cleveland Language center...
Everything there is manual ->
Reading,Writing,Talking - :)

Listening - First they played sample and asked if we were all comfortable!!!
If not they adjust volume,position etc etc'
Only when all are ok, they played the CD.

scoring 33 to 35 gets a good score .. (I got full marks in listening)..
