PMM

This is an old post of 2007. I think rules were different that time. According to new rules

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp#results

OP would get 14 points and not 12.

Thanks

6.5 listening means moderate = 2 points
6.5 reading means high = 4 points
8 writing means  high = 4 points
8 speaking means high = 4 points

and this give you 14 immigration points

well done karan

Hi.

Total score for IELTS is 16 and for 16 points in IELTS you have to Score following points individually in IELTS.
L: 7.5
R: 6.5
W: 6.5
S: 6.5

and you are getting following points for your IELTS
L: 6.5 = 2 points
R: 6.5 = 4 points
W: 8.0 = 4 points
S: 8.0 = 4 points

total: 14 points
