Hmm, my brother, It all depends oo!! Every case is assessed differently (Case-Case)
According to a few threads and posts some Naija guys did not.
The bottom line however is:
1) If you need more than 8 Points don't take chances - write and submit the IELTS
2) If you need less than 8 points, you may wish to still take the TEST and be double sure, otherwise submit a written statement. If they are satisfied they let you sail through, and if not they request for an IELTS result to be submitted.

of course, u are not required to take ILETS but if u really want to score full points and ensure u get the points that u deserve instead of leaving yr fate to the immigration officer then u would be advised to take it! ILETS is not that hard, and if yr english is OK, u should be able to score reasonably well.

This thread might also help. The situation is sad but should be a lesson for us all.

Although I was not asked to take the test and I am not from English speaking countries, my application was OK, maybe because I had enough points, and maybe because my field is teaching English as a second language to university level, which means good English and good communication ability, or maybe because I took my master degree from a Canadian university.

BUT.....I WOULD ADVISE ALL TO TAKE THE TEST AND TAKE NO RISKS, WHY WASTE TIME , WHY MAKE DELAY..BETTER BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.

Soj,

IELTS center in Lagos is the British Council at Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi.  They have the exams like three or four times in a year.  You can also get materials at, as at April 09, for N4k.

SOJ,

It is important that your friend takes the IELTS. However, i suspect that if he needs it urgently, he might not get a close date, so he can try Accra. Have you settled fully now? please i need your e-mail address. I need to discuss something with you.
