I got my ielts certificate from British Council today, when i asked them to attest a copy of it, they said they don't do it, they can only send copy of the original certificate to immigration office if desired by applicant, but it will take 4 weeks to get delivered, or 5 days in case we use courier service.

Is it ok if i just send copy of it as notarization will not be possible unless copy of it is attested by british council.

Similarly, I am getting UK degree certificate copy attested by British Council only (no notarization), will that be ok?

Please advice.

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

I don't think, as nothing is written on application guidelines saying to provide CIC original certificate.

Why don't you get it notarized elsewhere, not at the British council.

Hi

I don't think, as nothing is written on application guidelines saying to provide CIC original certificate.

I think that you should read the instructions a little bit closer, i.e. Appendix A

• Test results from an approved language-testing organization: We strongly
recommend that you submit test results if you are claiming proficiency in a
language that is not your native language. If you choose to send the reports to us
directly, you must provide the original. Photocopies are unacceptable. Language
test results must not be older than one year upon submission.
