I have got overall 5.5 band in ielts test.
speaking-5.5 ---- 2 points
listening-5.0 ---- 1 point
writing--6.0 ----- 2 points
reading-6.0 ----- 2 points

Total =  7 points out of 16

There is no requirement from cic but you should have atleast moderate result in IELTS so that no questions are raised but its still depend on visa officer if he thinks your english skills are not good enough than he can question you about it. As your score is 7 which is very low i would suggest you to re-sit if and improve your result you have time with you as well. Even if you submit your docs with the current result even then re-sit and if you get better result than send the copy of new result to the visa office.

Cheers
