If an applicant is in teaching job, then definitely, VO expects good IELTS result. VO considers points in individual sections (Read, write, listen, speak), so it would be helpful to review IELTS result once you post bands for individual sections.

L-7.5 -> 4 points from VO w-6.5 -> 4 points from VO r-6.0 -> 2 points from VO s-6.0 -> 2 points from VO total 12 points (max. 16) I think, you should look at this score as 12 point out of max 16; so this is not an excellent but a good score, and acceptable. I am not expert & my view is based on general information. good luck. P.S. request PMM, qorax, Leon for expert view.

I am also a teacher, but i applied during the time, you were allowed to write a written explanation about your language proficiency. So i did not take the IELTS. The VO has not also requested me to take the IELTS, my application has been in process since June 29, till now i have not heard from them. I completed my Master's Degree in June 2010 and on my degree certificate, it is written that i am Eligible to do Doctorate studies in English language and i also speak French. Now that my application is delaying, i was thinking of writing the IELTS in case the would ask me later. Please could anyone advise me on what to do. I am so confused. Canadaforall.

thanks a lot . i feel glad because at least i tried to make you understand. actually it happens as technology move fast these days . canadian services are changed too. hey! one more thing is that i have a bachelor of education degree too which is very important for teaching professional . it will add a point of confidence in processing of the application. i am happy too. i think you would be happy to have the clarification made here by. you wont need another academic ielts and a so called good score if you have a teaching professional degree in English medium! its really surprising! for claiming your visa chances and gaining confidence in getting registration or license , it would greatly help . i wont be able to evacuate the updates if i hadn't check it again best regards again
